J. Stefan Institute among founders of the Hydrogen Technology Development Centre

Science and industry jointly in the research of hydrogen and hydrogen technology

On September 24, 2008 a contract was signed for the establishment of the Hydrogen Technology Development Centre. The centre will foster research, development and application projects in the field of hydrogen technology and fuel cells. The founders of the centre are enterprises and institutions that are already involved in the hydrogen technology - a clean technology for the future.

Domel, d.d., Petrol d.d., INEA d.o.o., TPJ, d.o.o. and Mebius, d.o.o. enterprises, and J. Stefan Institute and the National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana have found a common interest to combine the knowledge within the Hydrogen Technology Development Centre. Because of global environmental problems and a lack of fossil fuels, the hydrogen producing technology, the deposit of hydrogen, its transport and use in fuel cells system are for many years a subject of intensive research also in Slovenia. The founders of the Centre are enterprises and institutions that are already involved in the field of hydrogen and hydrogen technologies and cover different problems within this broad area of research.

At our Department, research in the field of fuel cells is performed within four projects financed by the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Slovenia.
